At LGC, one of our\u00a0<\/span>main\u00a0<\/span>goals is to form meaningful connections with our clients, workers,\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>the community. For that reason, we offer volunteer days<\/span>\u00a0to our employees<\/span>. Twice a year\u00a0<\/span>they\u00a0<\/span>receive a paid day off to volunteer with one of their favorite charities or organizations<\/span>\u00a0to help connect with their community.\u00a0<\/span>In order to spread awareness, we\u2019ll be highlighting LGCs volunteer efforts and how to get involved.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Celebrate Spring with LGCs Volunteer Efforts: Make Orange Green<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n

Meredith Brown has been working at LGC for over two years, most recently as an Executive Assistant. This past Friday she had the opportunity to volunteer in the community garden at the University of Tennessee Knoxville<\/span>;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>s<\/span>he got connected to the university through her sister, who works in the sustainability department. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to their website, \u201cThe Office of Sustainability works to coordinate, manage, advise, and report on sustainable initiatives at\u00a0<\/span>University of Tennessee, Knoxville through research, data collection, and collaboration with a variety of on-campus and community stakeholders,\u201d with \u201cMake Orange Green\u201d as the tagline for their initiative.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For her volunteer day, Meredith helped by weeding, planting new vegetables, and\u00a0<\/span>watering\u00a0<\/span>the garden beds. On why she chose to volunteer at a shared garden, she says, “they help people learn about different plants and how vegetables\u00a0<\/span>grow, and<\/span>\u00a0can provide fresh options to the community!\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
