According to a 2018 report by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learning.linkedin.com\/resources\/workplace-learning-report-2018#\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">LinkedIn<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">93% of employees would stay at their company longer<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0if managers showed interest in developing their careers through upskilling. The opinions of the newest generation to enter the workforce,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">GenZ<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, shows how important upskilling is, with \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roberthalf.com\/blog\/management-tips\/the-importance-of-upskilling-your-employees\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">91%<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">[citing] professional training as an important factor when choosing an employer.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In 2018, turnover in the restaurant industry was at nearly\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">75%<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">up 2% from the year prior. Creating a system of training and upskilling not only shows you care about employee development, but that you see a future with that employee at the company. Robert Half International, a California based HR consulting firm, suggests \u201clunch and learns\u201d, mentoring and shadowing, virtual learning, microlearning, and tuition reimbursement as effective upskilling opportunities.
