With unemployment hovering below 4% since February, building a new team or finding the right new hire is one of the biggest challenges we\u2019ll see this year. Despite the talent shortage, businesses ranging from education and health services to wholesale trade added tens of thousands of jobs during the last quarter of the year.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">CNBC\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">reports\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(with stats by the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Bureau of Labor Statistics<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">employment gains in\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/11\/01\/heres-where-the-jobs-are-for-october-2019-in-one-chart.html\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">October<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/12\/06\/heres-where-the-jobs-are-for-november-2019-in-one-chart.html\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">November<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/01\/10\/heres-where-the-jobs-are-for-december-2019-in-one-chart.html\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">December<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0led to an additiona<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">l 539,000 jobs across the country, 32% higher than what was projected.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In particular, hospitality<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and leisure saw impressive results, with 61,000, 45,000, and 40,000 jobs being added each month (respectively). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">With more than 25% of the added jobs being in hospitality, restaurant and hotel managers will be heavily focused on filling available positions in 2020. Because of the tight market, it\u2019s a great time to start thinking outside of the box in terms of recruiting.
