In this post, three LGC leaders\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">share their feelings on failure, perseverance, and motivation. Hopefully this inspires you to share a kind word with your team, friends, or family.\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<h5><strong>LGC Leaders Share Their Feelings on Failure, Perseverance, and Motivation<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Terra G. on\u00a0<\/span><\/i><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Failure<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The idea of failure evokes many emotions \u2013 fear, disappointment, panic, stress, and it brings on a general feeling of uncomfortableness. Failure can be many different things for different people: losing your job, not putting hours up, not getting new clients, not feeling like you are doing enough, etc.\u00a0 Speaking personally, generally in my life and during these past two months at work, I have felt all of that and more.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">COVID has created such an unknown in everyone\u2019s life that it is almost expected to not know exactly how to navigate our new (for now) normal. AND THAT IS OKAY. Why? Because we all figured it out. How? We dug deep, we did something different, and we had GREAT leadership that did not create an environment of fear mongering, instead we were told \u201cyes you can\u201d and we were given direction, coaching and a push in the right direction.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That is not to say that while we were figuring it\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">out,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0we didn\u2019t feel uncomfortable.\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">New is uncomfortable. New is out of our comfort zone. But the whole point of this is that if you keep yourself comfortable, you don\u2019t grow<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. You don\u2019t grow because you don\u2019t push yourself and you continue to run in circles getting the same results over and over. If we weren\u2019t pushed to feel uncomfortable, we wouldn\u2019t\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">still\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">be succeeding regardless of the state of our industry<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jeremy R. on\u00a0<\/span><\/i><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Perseverance<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You may not know\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">it,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0but humans aren\u2019t built to be the strongest, or fastest. What we can do better than any other species is adapt to our surroundings, always seeking out new ways to tackle problems and thrive.\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ultimately our most important trait is our perseverance,\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the ability to endure, through and through<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0There are incredible tales such as the experiences of Hugh Glass.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In 1818 Glass stumbled upon a grizzly bear while hunting and ended up fighting for his life with only a knife and his bare hands. He conquered the bear but was left with a broken leg &amp; gashes all over.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ultimately,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0he overcame immense challenges, crawling 200 miles back to civilization. A month\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ago<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0the entire world was injured by something unseen and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">sinister,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0but\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">we\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">will overcome.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Kelsey\u00a0<\/span><\/i><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">S. on Motivation<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">One of my biggest motivators that helps me drive every day is something I\u2019ve heard my manager say time and time again:\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cIf you did ALL you could\u00a0do,\u00a0you did your job.\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I cheered for a quite some<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">time in my life. In cheer<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0you typically have one competition per year. You practice for MONTHS for one 2 minute and 30 second routine. You have one chance to give it your all! If you aren\u2019t giving it all when you step up on that mat, then what are you even doing here?<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">When<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0I go into work, my one chance to step onto the mat, every day and give it my all. When I leave\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">work I ask myself \u201cDid I do everything I could do today? Did I give it my best effort? Did it leave it all out on the mat?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Obviously,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0there may be off days<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0but doesn\u2019t mean you can let that affect you for the rest of the week, rest of the month, or the rest of the year. Go into work\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">every day<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0doing all you can do to be successful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We hope these words of encouragement from LGC leaders Terra, Jeremy, and Kelsey could provide you with some comfort and motivation during challenging times.
