We are LGC | Meet Tena Saulny, Senior VP of Client Relations<\/strong><\/h5>\n

STAY STRONG AND HOLD ON<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the three years Tena\u00a0<\/span>Saulny<\/span>\u00a0has\u00a0<\/span>been with<\/span>\u00a0LGC,\u00a0<\/span>she\u2019s worked her way up from the Assistant Staffing Manager position she was hired for, to her current position today \u2013 Area Vice President over<\/span>seeing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>ten LGC locations<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>While the road to get here hasn\u2019t always been smooth, Tena has paved her way as an important asset in LGC\u2019s past, present, and future\u00a0<\/span>using her determination and passion.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tena was born in a town in Missouri aptly named after\u00a0<\/span>one of her personality traits\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 Independence \u2013\u00a0<\/span>but\u00a0<\/span>has been living in Texas for most of her life<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>While she was getting a degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University, she\u00a0<\/span>worked<\/span>\u00a0in both the<\/span>\u00a0hospitality and retail<\/span>\u00a0industries<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>until she landed her first operations job.\u00a0<\/span>She n<\/span>ot\u00a0<\/span>gain<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0sales experience<\/span>\u00a0through this\u00a0<\/span>position but<\/span>\u00a0was<\/span>\u00a0also<\/span>\u00a0able to\u00a0<\/span>learn about marketing<\/span>;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in particular<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>branding<\/span>\u00a0and how to create marketing strategies for clients. This var<\/span>iety of experience, Tena says,\u00a0<\/span>helped lead her to where she is today.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to joining the team in\u00a0<\/span>June 2017, Tena spent some time working for other staffing companies<\/span>, managing events that LGC was also working at \u2013 which is how she was introduced to the company.\u00a0<\/span>After her current job\u00a0<\/span>went through a restructuring, Tena found herself looking for\u00a0<\/span>something new<\/span>. She was ready to bring her extensive experience and\u00a0<\/span>commitment to a com<\/span>pany that would value her and appreciate what she could bring to the table. Enter LGC.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In her first conversation about<\/span>\u00a0possible employment at<\/span>\u00a0LGC with then-president<\/span>\u00a0Jennifer, they talked for 3 hours; about what Tena\u2019s next move was, what she wanted from her career, and\u00a0<\/span>ultimately \u2013 how LGC could meet those needs.\u00a0<\/span>At\u00a0<\/span>first,<\/span>\u00a0she was unsure\u00a0<\/span>about if this was the right career move for her<\/span>, but<\/span>\u00a0on deciding to accept the position, she says,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI was sold on the culture. And this was 3 years ago, so it\u2019s only grown from there<\/span><\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>(<\/span>I<\/span>n fact, Tena has had a huge impact on the culture at LGC, having just been part o<\/span>f a\u00a0<\/span>task force\u00a0<\/span>to create a new mission and vision statement<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Three months after Tena was hired, she was promoted because of the immense growth her office saw<\/span>. Since then, she\u2019s been working consis<\/span>tently to help make LGC the successful staffing partner it is today. But she knows she hasn\u2019t done it alone:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think the key to my success has been my team. Building a strong team<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>means teaching them what you know. One thing that\u2019s important to me is that everyone can do everyone’s job, that way there isn\u2019t any down time in production. My team understanding and being productive is what allows me to continue to grow. I can’t grow if they\u2019re not growing, and you can\u2019t continue to grow if you don\u2019t train your replacement.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She\u00a0<\/span>also attributes part of her success\u00a0<\/span>to her mentors, LGC CEO George\u00a0<\/span>Lessmeister<\/span>\u00a0and Jennifer, who originally convinced her to join the team.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThey understood my business mind and they learned to trust me, and that\u2019s what allows me to feel like \u2018<\/span><\/i>H<\/span><\/i>ey, I can suggest these things\u2019 because George is going to listen. It’s like a family here, like I\u2019m home<\/span><\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked what advice Tena could share for those who are struggling during a challenging year, she<\/span>\u00a0first says\u00a0<\/span>\u201cStay strong, and hold on!\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0laughs, continuing<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>\u201cIt’s okay to have a bad day. I tell my team that all the time. It\u2019s okay to make a mistake, we are going to make them every day, I make them every day. It\u2019s only about the recovery.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside of LGC (and the pandemic), Tena likes to\u00a0<\/span>travel, whether it’s for fun, for work, or for her son\u2019s bas<\/span>ketball team.\u00a0<\/span>She enjoys visiting places with great cuisine, like Puerto Rico and New Orleans<\/span>, and has even been a part of the famous Mardi Gras parades in NOLA<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>As someone who\u2019s family is extremely important to them,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Tena is\u00a0<\/span>looking forward to becoming an aunt for the first time in the next couple months.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
