How Community Can Aid in Hospitality Recovery<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A few weeks\u00a0ago\u00a0we asked some of LGC\u2019s staffing leaders\u00a0what\u00a0a major trend they were expecting to see in the\u00a0hospitality industry during the\u00a0last few months of 2021.\u00a0In addition to trends like adaptability\u00a0and\u00a0building defense, one unique trend stood out\u00a0\u2013\u00a0building\u00a0a sense of\u00a0togetherness\u00a0in the hospitality industry.\u00a0Brittany Hunter, VP of client relations had this to say:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOverall\u00a0I see and feel a much stronger sense of community present within our industry. I feel as though everyone is still struggling to secure and retain talent, and for the most part all parties are working together to help achieve the best possible result in a way I have never experienced in our industry.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

An example is the experience I am having right now at [a clients] tournament. This\u00a0particular client\u00a0has never been more kind, understanding, and willing to\u00a0be flexible\u00a0with our staff\u00a0regarding\u00a0what they can\u00a0provide\u00a0them. Their\u00a0approach has further invested our employees\u00a0in wanting\u00a0to show up for them,\u00a0and they have gone\u00a0above and beyond\u00a0in a way I have never seen at this event as a result.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0Because of this shift, what is\u00a0a very stressful\u00a02-week\u00a0tournament every single year has been a much more rewarding process for all and a joy to be a part of\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u2013\u00a0<\/span><\/i>despite\u00a0all the usual outward challenges still being present.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It feels like a shift of consciousness in our industry is happening and I think it\u2019s a very positive thing! That is the silver lining for me in this crazy time!\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tips for strengthening your hospitality community<\/strong><\/h6>\n

Regardless of what\u2019s going on in the world, we should always be showing kindness to service industry workers (and each other). But the past 18 months in particular have shown us how impactful it can be to lead with compassion. This example from Brittany and her client is just one of many that demonstrate how the industry is coming together to support its workers in a time when it\u2019s needed the most.
