Recently, some of the LGC Denver team had the opportunity to attend the Colorado Restaurant Association Blue Ribbon Legislative Reception. Below we’re talk more about the reception and how LGC got involved.
What is the Blue Ribbon Legislative Reception?
The Colorado Restaurant Association “is dedicated to the enhancement and success of Colorado’s foodservice industry,” and is a partner of the National Restaurant Association. Since their founding in 1933, the CRA has been integral in being advocates for the foodservice industry in one of the biggest food and beverage meccas in the country.
On January 8th of this year, the Colorado Restaurant Association held the Blue Ribbon Legislative Reception, which provides hospitality professionals with the opportunity to share their industry-related concerns with local legislators. This reception – which is the most popular event of the season amongst legislators – “shows [our] state legislators the full force of the industry” and brings attention to “bills and regulations…that could hurt the ability of restaurants to operate successfully.”
In attendance was LGC’s Denver Perm team and LGC’s Area VP of our temporary staffing division. Sean Hoover, General Manager of LGC’s Permanent Placement division, is on the board of directors for the Mile High Chapter of the Colorado Restaurant Association. The team had the chance to network with several senators and house members regarding initiatives to help the industry in Colorado. As local industry experts, the LGC team was able to provide invaluable expertise and feedback on the best ways to support the Colorado foodservice community.
All in all, it was a great night for sharing ideas, constructive criticism, and feedback to help create a better landscape for Colorado-based restaurants. The LGC Denver team is looking forward to attending more events with the Colorado Restaurant Association in the future.
