Happy Small Business Saturday! LGC is proud to support local businesses nationwide. This year, we want to highlight the benefits of supporting local businesses, how LGC supports local businesses, and a short list of our employees’ favorite local businesses in different LGC markets.

Small Business Saturday – How LGC Supports Great Local Businesses Nationwide

The Benefits of Supporting Local Businesses

Small Business Saturday was created by American Express to encourage holiday shopping. The event occurs every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday more focused on customers shopping at big-box retail stores, Small Business Saturday is geared towards customers shopping at locally owned businesses.

Shopping at small and local businesses helps to stimulate the local economy. The money spent shopping at local businesses gets reinvested in the community via the local government. Most big-box stores are given tax breaks that don’t stimulate this type of growth. Supporting small and local businesses also helps the environment. Shopping locally requires less transportation, which equates to less congestion on the roads and less pollution. Small Business Saturday is a great way to give back to your local businesses and communities.

How LGC Supports Local Businesses

With offices located nationwide, LGC has had the opportunity to get to know plenty of markets all over the country. LGC has over 40 brick and mortar offices across the country and is committed to each and every one of those communities. LGC regularly partners with local programs and community outreach organizations to ensure we’re hiring candidates with different experiences, backgrounds, and goals. We believe that giving back to our local communities is just one of many ways we can show appreciation to all the cities we’ve been able to call home over the last 20 years.
