Are you looking for a job but don’t know where to start? Try a job site! They’re user-friendly, convenient, and customizable with filters. Check out our favorite 5 job sites here:
Indeed
If you’re looking for a site that’s easy to use, straightforward, helps you with your resume, and offers a career blog, Indeed is the job site for you. The platform pulls job postings from all over the Internet as well as individual company pages. It’s a one-stop-shop for all types of jobs you could be looking for.
There are all kinds of jobs that Indeed finds for you including remote work. Some other useful features include: salary information, it is free to use, and it updates daily. Indeed is a great option if you’re looking for an entry-level or managerial position!
Another great option for job seekers is LinkedIn. The networking platform has an extensive archive of job postings. What’s unique about LinkedIn is that your resume is your profile. You can also upload resumes and cover letters, but recruiters and employers will be able to look at your profile as well. So, you not only want to impress on your resume, but also your LinkedIn profile.
The other unique thing about finding a job on LinkedIn is you can communicate with your network to find jobs and skip the actual job post. Networking is a huge part of building your career and LinkedIn is one of the best ways to get a head start.
Glassdoor
Another fairly popular job site is Glassdoor. This platform is appropriately named because one of its most unique features is that you can view anonymous reviews left on a company’s page about the interview process as well as the actual work. It gives you a bit of insight into other people’s experience with the employer before you’ve even applied. Reading these reviews can be helpful to evaluate a company but they can also be biased, so take them with a grain of salt.
It also works as a normal job platform and finds you jobs in a similar way that Indeed does. The platform is free to use and uses applications you’ve already submitted to personalize your homepage with new job postings that might interest you.
CareerBuilder
As one of the job sites that has been around for a long time, CareerBuilder has a lot to offer job seekers. The vast amount of filter functions allow you to find the exact things you’re looking for (location, pay range, job title, etc.) It also offers personalized career tests if you’re looking for a job but you’re not sure what you want. It uses Google AI to match job listings with what you’re looking for so that you get a list of job openings that make sense for you.
Snagajob
Last but not least, Snagajob is an online marketplace for people to find jobs in the hospitality industry. Whether you want to work in a restaurant or retail, this site is tailored just for you. It’s free to use and has a wide range of opportunities. With each job, it shows you the pay per hour, required qualifications, location, and more. If you’re only looking in the hospitality industry this site will be extremely helpful to you.
