Dearest Gentle Reader,

Last week, the long awaited continuation of Bridgerton season 3 was delivered straight to our screens. As practiced viewers ourselves, we tuned in to get the season’s latest gossip. Yes, the romance will make you “swoon” and the drama is all the rage throughout the “ton,” but what really shines this season are the characters and how far they’ve come since the beginning.

The beautiful thing about movies and television is you get to watch your favorite characters experience things you likely relate to. Maybe you’ve experienced the infamous miscommunication trope or been rejected by your childhood crush. Whatever it is, you can find solace in the comfort of feeling seen.

With that, pick your favorite character and see what they have to tell you about life, love, and work!

Anthony Bridgerton:

Ever the stoic viscount, the eldest brother has a very different mindset compared to his siblings.

Bridgerton character Anthony

On life: Your purpose is your duty in this life.

On love: When you let yourself be vulnerable, you find real connection.

On work: Good things come to those who work for them.

Benedict Bridgerton:

A true second born, Benedict lives a life of frivolity and freedom. He doesn’t shoulder the burden of being the family heir which puts him in a unique state of mind.

Bridgerton character Benedict

On life: Do what you love, even if it scares you and you think you won’t succeed.

On love: Love is supposed to be fun, don’t take it too seriously.

On work: If you do the work you love, you’ll never have to work.

Colin Bridgerton:

Life is but an adventure to the third born. Colin goes where the wind takes him and has a more introspective nature compared to his siblings.

Bridgerton character Colin

On life: There’s so much in the world we don’t understand and haven’t experienced. Seek and you shall find.

On love: Sometimes everything you’re looking for is right in front of you, blink and you’ll miss it.

On work: Never stop learning. That’s when you stop growing.

Daphne Bridgerton:

As the first born daughter, Daphne is prime and proper, the diamond of her season. She has a different head on her shoulders compared to her other sisters and different responsibilities than her brothers.

Bridgerton character Daphne

On life: Don’t let anyone make your decisions for you.

On love: You can love someone like crazy, but they must learn to love themselves before they can fully love you and accept the love you give them.

On work: You are the only one who can determine your future. If you want something, go get it.

Eloise Bridgerton:

You won’t find her in a ballgown unless you force her into it. Eloise despises anything that has to do with meeting gender expectations in London society.

Bridgerton character Eloise

On life: If someone tells you you can’t do something, do it anyway.

On love: Your relationship is on your own timeline. Don’t rush things just because people put expectations on you.

On work: Women belong in as many spaces as they are passionate about. Your voice is invaluable, use it as much as possible especially to question injustice.

Francesca Bridgerton:

Easily the quietest in the family, Francesca holds different values than the rest of her family when it comes to love and beyond.

Bridgerton character Francesca

On life: Comfort can be found in the quietest of moments.

On love: Cherish quality time together even if you aren’t doing anything. You can communicate even through shared silence.

On work: Giving your personal opinion can lead to better results. Two heads are better than one.

Kate Bridgerton (Sharma):

Before she became the viscountess, she played the role of protective mother quite well when it came to her sister. She’s quite known for her bold opinions and spitfire personality.

Bridgerton character Lady Kate

On life: You are your own anchor. Stick to your guns no matter what.

On love: Stay. Stay and see what happens, it could be something really good.

On work: You know your stuff, trust yourself and be confident in your work.

Lady Danbury:

Friend of queens and dukes alike, Lady Danbury is the resident puppet master and tactician of the “ton.” She’s had to build her life from the ground up so she not only has wisdom but experience to back it.

Bridgerton character Lady Danbury

On life: The friendships and connections you nurture are what make everything worth it. Never underestimate the power of the people around you.

On love: You might not always have the most romantic love story, but you can help others realize theirs.

On work: You must live before you can rest. While you’re young take advantage of your youth, you can rest when you’ve lived into your elder years.

Penelope Featherington:

The mystery behind the mask, Penelope is known for being an avid reader, writer, and friend to Eloise. But she lives a secret life.

Bridgerton character Penelope

On life: People aren’t always as they seem. Get to know them and they might surprise you.

On love: Communication is the foundation of any healthy relationship. You can’t fully be yourself if you’re lying or if you haven’t built the trust of healthy communication from the beginning.

On work: Gossip can be a slippery slope. Building a non-toxic workplace begins with constructive feedback, not talking behind people’s back.

Violet Bridgerton:

A walking manifestation of love, Violet is the matriarch of the Bridgerton name. She has watched her kids grow up through the loss of their father and is seeing them through their social seasons into marriage.

Bridgerton character Violet

On life: Family is everything. Whether it’s your chosen or blood family, having people you can rely on to always be there is life’s greatest gift.

On love: There’s nothing more exhilarating than finding the person you can build a life with. There will be ups and downs, but a true love match will only change your life for the better.

On work: Networking will open up your world to new opportunities. While the right match is ideal, being in good graces with a variety of people will help your advances.
