At LGC, we’re inspired by stories of career growth and success, especially when those stories come from within our own team. In our blog series, LGC Stories, we shine a spotlight on team members who have grown with us and the motivations that drive them to excel.

While LGC is a tree with many branches, we’re all connected by a shared commitment to support one another’s growth. We hope this series inspires you to either join our team or take the next step in developing your own LGC story.

Meet Courtney Hunter, Director of Special Projects

Courtney Hunter grew up in Atlanta, the home of Coca-Cola and the “Hollywood of the South.” He began his career by gaining hands-on experience in the restaurant industry, working various jobs before coming to LGC.

Before transitioning to the corporate side of things, Courtney found a job with LGC Columbus as a server, like so many of our employees. As he continued to shine in this role, he eventually moved up to the position of Banquet Captain, where he utilized his leadership skills to ensure events ran smoothly.

In 2012, Courtney officially joined the LGC team in the Columbus office. From there, he focused on making events successful and cultivating meaningful relationships with clients.

Speaking of clients, working with other businesses is one of his favorite parts of the job. He says, “Meeting and talking to potential new clients is fun, and I enjoy the time and follow-up that is required to secure new accounts.”

It takes a special type of person to truly enjoy the sales aspect of the job and to do it well, as Courtney does. On the other hand, he acknowledges that the staffing side of things can be challenging.

“The staffing side of the business can be stressful,” he explains. “Candidates will let you down, and clients can sometimes be difficult to work with. It comes with the territory, though, and a successful mission makes it all worth it at the end of the day.”

Throughout the years, Courtney has worked his way up to the role he holds today, and he credits the help and support of his colleagues at LGC for his success. When asked about someone who made a profound impact on him, he mentions, “Brittany Sullivan taught me a lot about the ins and outs of working for LGC. There have been many other people as well throughout the years. You can always take something positive away from most people if you are open to learning.”

Overall, Courtney has been an incredible addition to our LGC nationwide team for 13 years. His advice to newcomers is: “Make your plan and stick with it. Always follow up when it comes to sales, and make sure that you enjoy your free time.”

When he’s not working, Courtney enjoys music, movies, spending time with his dogs, and hanging out with his friends. He’s also a huge Atlanta Falcons fan!

At LGC, we’re continually inspired by the leaders who shape our company and nurture our teams. Courtney has played an integral role in helping LGC grow into the strong and vibrant organization we are today. Let his journey remind you of what’s possible with hard work, mentorship, and a supportive team.
