Job Description:

As an EVS Technician employed by LGC, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe healthcare environment. Your work is essential in preventing the spread of infections and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. If you are passionate about cleanliness, safety, and contributing to the overall health of the community, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Sanitization: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including disinfecting and sanitizing patient rooms, common areas, and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Waste Management: Properly dispose of medical waste, hazardous materials, and regular trash following established safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Floor Care: Vacuum, sweep, mop, and wax floors in patient rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Restocking Supplies: Restock paper products, cleaning supplies, and other necessary items in patient rooms and common areas.
  • Infection Control: Follow infection control protocols and use appropriate cleaning agents to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in emergency response situations, such as spills or infectious disease outbreaks, following established procedures.
  • Reporting: Report maintenance and repair needs, safety hazards, and unusual conditions to the supervisor.
  • Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain compliance with healthcare and environmental services standards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in environmental services, janitorial, or related roles is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and infection control practices is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
