We are currently seeking skilled and dependable Cooks for a university campus dining facility in the Forest Park area of St. Louis. These are temporary positions with the opportunity to become permanent based on performance and reliability. Position Summary
As a Cook, you’ll play a vital role in preparing and serving meals for students, faculty, and staff. You’ll be responsible for executing daily food preparation, maintaining high food safety standards, and ensuring an efficient kitchen operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook hot and cold menu items according to recipes and portion standards
- Set up and break down food stations before and after service
- Ensure all food is handled, prepared, and stored in compliance with food safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and prep areas
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to meet mealtime deadlines
- Assist with inventory, receiving deliveries, and storing supplies properly
Requirements
- Previous cooking experience required (institutional, commercial, or food service setting preferred)
- Ability to follow recipes and food preparation procedures accurately
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to the Forest Park area
- Background check required for campus placement
