Job Description

Job Overview:
LGC Hospitality Staffing is hiring experienced Cooks and Prep Cooks to support hotels, hospitals, schools, and event-based food service operations. This is a temporary, on-call position ideal for individuals who are dependable, work with urgency, and can perform in fast-paced, high-volume kitchens.

You will be responsible for preparing food to client standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and following all safety and sanitation guidelines while representing LGC on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, menus, and client specifications
  • Prep ingredients (cutting, portioning, measuring, labeling, and storing)
  • Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (ServSafe, HACCP, etc.)
  • Keep kitchen areas clean, organized, and compliant with health standards
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory as needed
  • Support service during high-volume periods (hot line, cold prep, or batch cooking)
  • Follow direction from chefs, kitchen managers, and client supervisors
  • Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work

Work Environments:

  • Hotels (banquets, restaurants, breakfast service)
  • Hospitals (patient dining, cafeteria service)
  • Schools and universities (cafeterias, dining halls)
  • Event venues and catering operations

Requirements:

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience required
  • Experience in high-volume or institutional kitchens preferred (hotel, healthcare, school, or catering)
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and food safety standards
  • Reliable transportation to various job sites
  • Flexible schedule (early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed)
  • Professional appearance and dependable attendance
