At LGC, collaboration and supporting each other’s success are at the heart of everything we do. As a nationwide team spread across departments and state lines, it’s rare that we’re all in the same place at once. To bridge this gap and continue growing together, we’ve recently introduced a new professional training and development series for our internal team called “Hard Hat Meetings.”
Last month, our focus was on preparing for the holiday season by strengthening sales efforts and discussing why partnering with LGC is the best option for holiday staffing. This month, we took a deep dive into one of the most essential aspects of our business: payroll.
One of the key benefits we offer our clients is that when they use LGC employees, they don’t have to worry about payroll, overtime, worker’s compensation, and more. Payroll is one of our most important functions, and as CEO George Lessmeister wisely says:
“When you don’t get paid correctly, we don’t get paid correctly. We’re all in this together.”
For us, it’s crucial to continually refine our practices to ensure we’re delivering the best service possible for both clients and employees. We’re not perfect—like any company, we make mistakes—but what we can promise is a commitment to continuous improvement.
This is the central goal of our monthly “Hard Hat Meetings.” Whether an employee has been with us for 14 years or just 4 months, everyone has room to grow and improve. These meetings are not only a chance to refresh our knowledge of company practices but also to learn from the experts in various fields.
This month, our team had the opportunity to hear from the Director of HQ Operations and the Head Payroll Supervisor, Crystal Huston and Scott Randall. As the duo who lead payroll operations and handle issues that arise, Crystal and Scott provided valuable insights. They walked our team through key things to look for on timesheets, common errors to avoid, and how to effectively address pay concerns with employees.
Overall, our monthly trainings, like this one, are part of our ongoing efforts to continually improve and reach new levels of success. At LGC, we believe that growth comes from continuous learning and pushing ourselves to be better. While perfection isn’t something we can promise, progress certainly is.
