Every week we comb through the news to find employment trends affecting the hospitality industry so you don’t have to. This week’s topic: the importance of reflection and looking back on LGC’s year.
The Importance of Reflection
As we finish up 2021, it’s good to take the last couple weeks of the year to reflect on the months prior and it what impact it had. For the U.S., this year was about finding the balance between living with the pandemic and regaining some of the normalcy we desperately needed. In the hospitality industry, the focus of 2021 was revenue building and combatting staffing challenges. For LGC, we spent this past year diversifying our staffing services and finding new ways to connect businesses with employees at a time where it was so desperately needed.
Every new year is an opportunity to become smarter, more efficient, and more agile. When reflecting on 2021, think about your challenges and successes, your wins and losses. What did you do right this year? How can you improve? For hospitality businesses, consider these 3 points and ask yourself the following:
- The guest experience – what can you bring into 2022 that will continue to grow your new and return customer base?
- Employee feedback and workplace environment – how can you ensure employees are being heard and feel comfortable (and safe) at work?
- Growing your team – do you feel confident in your ability to recruit and hire the right talent?
Showing Appreciation
While reflecting on LGC’s year, we identified a major theme that’s been present in all our decision making; appreciation and gratitude. For our clients, who trust us to find them the best candidates to represent their business. For our workers, who never fail to impress us with their hard work and dedication. And for our internal teams spread across the country, who led by example and let their passion shine through their work. Without these three parts working together, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
LGC is more ready than ever to dive into the New Year. We’ve spent time reflecting on this year and learning how we can better service the three integral parts of our business to make 2022 better than the year before. For anyone that’s been along for the ride with LGC this year, we sincerely thank you. And as always, if there’s anything we can do for you, don’t hesitate to reach out.
